Resolutions for 2014

  • Be more punctual.  Hence, the late resolution post. Prior to becoming a mother, I was early to everything and I mean everything! It seems impossible these days.  Not only is it annoying to the person on the other end but it's stressful on myself when I'm running behind.  Luckily, I have friends and family who understand that life with twins is a bit hectic some days.  That really is no excuse though, everyone's world doesn't and shouldn't revolve around me. 
  • Be more conscientious of my health.  I put an abundance of time and effort into assuring A & S get the right amount of fruits, veggies, protein, dairy, iron, etc.  each and every single day.  I generally feed them only fresh and/or homemade food, other than Puffs,  Lil' Crunchies, and Mum Mum's.  Their first real sweet treat will be their birthday cake and they better savor the flavor because they won't be getting much of that sweetness in their diets for awhile. For some reason, I still fill my body with junk food and a lot of it.  Especially peanut butter (( I'm addicted... like 2 lbs in 24 hours addicted)).  I really need to work on this, as I am the example I set for them in the long run. 
  • Dramatically decrease my time spent on Facebook.  There really is no need to check it every 5 minutes.  I find myself being more annoyed by others uneducated political posts than anything.
  • Schedule a consistent date night every month.  Andrew and I have such a supportive and helpful village around us but it seems we get caught up in doing so much with or for other people that we forget to say no and do something for ourselves, by ourselves! We have been blessed with parents and grandparents who are always more than willing to care for our sweet A & S for a few hours.  They would love the opportunity to watch them and A & S could really benefit from spending time with others.
  • Maintain friendships, whether that be a monthly dinner and/or game night, lunch, or play dates.  Friendship is something I deeply treasure.
  • Continue our family lunches on Sunday at my parents house.  Family is such an important part of our lives and we want A & S to cherish that time as well, traditions are a great start.
  • Clean more often and get organized.  Our house seems to always be a wreck and I need to really work on keeping up with it better.  Organization would be a great start to this.
  • Be more active in Rare Pair, which is an awesome support group for mom's of multiples that I joined a few months ago. 
  • Spend more quality time with my husband and kids.  It seems as though the hustle and bustle of every day life gets in the way and once we're all home and settled in the computers and phones come out and the TV comes on.  We cancelled cable so the TV is really on just for noise more than anything. It's the computers and phones that seem to be the biggest interference of our quality time.
  • Blog more often!  I am looking forward to getting back on track with it all and sharing this crazy adventure of motherhood with you all!
  • Simply slow down and enjoy the little moments!
